This Boro inspired kit is based on the ancient Japanese tradition of patching and mending fabrics through layering and simple hand stitching techniques. This kit can help you prolong the life of your favorite garment by covering holes or tears and making the fabric stronger by sashiko stitching. You can also create your own patchwork fabric. Patches of fabric are stitched over a backing fabric using sashiko stitching to hold in place. This creates a new fabric to use to make bags, purses, pillows, placemats, clothes, etc.

• Included in this kit:
• 10 - about 4 1/2 x 5 inch traditional 100% cotton Japanese fabrics of varying weights and designs. Exact fabrics may vary from the picture shown depending on availability.
• 1 - 20m (22 yards) skein white sashiko thread
• 1 - pack of two different size Japanese sashiko needles.
• 1 - leather thimble.
• 6 - Stick 'n Stitch pattern transfers. Simply stick the transfer to the area to be stitched, stitch the design, and then rinse off the sticker. Each transfer is single use only.
• Basic instructions are included to get started.
